Domestic & Sexual Abuse Helpline for Sheffield

The helpline (0808 808 2241) is the start of the pathway to a range of domestic abuse services in Sheffield, depending on someone’s needs and level of risk. The services mainly work with people who have experienced abuse within an intimate or a family relationship.

All the local services above have ISVAs – victim-focused advisors to work with victims of recent and historic sexual crimes including:
  • advice on counselling and other services available
  • advice on the process involved in reporting a crime to the police
  • support to take their case through the criminal justice process, if they choose to do so
  • support to access the Sexual Assault Referral Centre to collect evidence

Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) for South Yorkshire

SARCs offers free support and practical help to anyone in South Yorkshire who has experienced sexual abuse. The service is completely confidential and you don’t have to give any personal information, or report to the police, to get help – ring 24/7 for appointment:
  • immediate health assessment and support for the client and significant others o access to follow up services for ongoing medical, psychological, and social needs
