On 14 January 2018, the Know the Line campaign joined together with other feminist campaigners to meet with Dr Alan Billings, the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (SYPCC), to discuss misogyny as a hate crime.
The meeting focused on:
- The work undertaken in Nottinghamshire to classify misogyny as a hate crime
- Why the strategy needs to be focused on misogyny and not gender
- The development of the SYPCC Police and Crime Plan
This was a useful and beneficial meeting with the SYPCC supportive of the campaign and its objectives.
